United Lands began as a Canadian subsidiary of a British firm that had been granted 20,000 acres of land in Newfoundland as a compensation for having laid the first trans-Atlantic Cable to Canada. It was in Ontario where the company became renown in the 1950s. It developed thousand acres of commercial and residential construction project in Mississauga. Soon afterwards, the family-run company Welton Limited bought the company, adding 20 years of construction experience.
United Lands, smartly lead by the Weltons, started transforming into a full service real estate development and construction firm. Its successful projects were located primarily in The Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, as well as in Florida and South Carolina.
More than a half century in the development and construction industry, has made it possible for the company to build over 4,500 low and high-rise residences, not to mention the numerous commercial and industrial developments. Their high-rise condominiums are located in Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Oakville. Some of them include Oakridge Heights, Chestnut Place, Stonebrook and Kingsmere on the Park.
United Lands has also a prolific history in low-rise development, from resort homes in Florida and South Carolina to recently built communities of townhomes and semi-detached homes. The companyâ€™s commercial and industrial developments include the Canadian HQ of Atomic Energy of Canada in Sheridan Research Park (Oakvile), and the corporate campuses and Skyview Drive (Burlington) and Sherwood Heights (Mississauga-Oakville border).
